EMPEQ Wins Award from New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG)

EMPEQ’s Fast Site Survey™ recognized for adding efficiency to building and equipment auditing.

Ithaca, NY – EMPEQ (Empower Equity, Inc.) was named as a winner of an Ignition Grant from New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG). The company’s Fast Site Survey was chosen as a recipient of the award due to the technology’s potential to a have a long-term, demonstrable impact on reducing carbon emissions – especially in Upstate New York.

NYSEG launched the Ignition Grant program to spur development of high growth potential companies by selectively and competitively awarding funds to startup companies that agree to locate in a recognized innovation zone/district or have a regional economic impact and/or footprint.

Fast Site Survey’s capability to offer the efficiency and accuracy provided by capturing and digitizing the specifications of equipment and other infrastructure with one click of a smartphone’s camera was the primary reason for the award; however, NYSEG also saw great value in the solution’s new customizable feature set as it provides the ability to collect virtually any data in the built environment regardless of the format needed.

Ultimately, the award will allow EMPEQ to more expeditiously add additional features to their software and thus build upon Fast Site Survey’s proven track record of adding efficiency, precision, and dependability to the site audit process.

As a company located with NYSEG’s utility footprint, the award was of particular importance to EMPEQ. CEO and Marine Corps veteran Herbert Dwyer stated, “Fast Site Survey has been recognized globally for process efficiency and industry innovation, but it’s most humbling when you are recognized at home. We cannot wait to put this award to work making our customers more proficient.” COO and Upper Mohawk Nation member Derek LaClair added, “NYSEG is looking for new innovative technologies to support their strong interest in clean energy. We are thrilled to be included in their portfolio of innovation.”
